Satan at Play

Satan S'Amuse, like many early films, was basically a "look! The pictures are moving! It's like magic!" sort of thing. Essentially a magic show, using a lot of the kind of magic unique to films. Satan is almost a monster by technicality in this, but he was fun to draw. I regret nothing!

Oct 8--Mephisto and Faust

The first time I ever saw any version of Faust performed I was a kid, watching my aunt in the opera. I remember feeling genuinely guilty about being attracted to the character of Mephistopheles--he was just so magnetic! Years later I saw the F.W. Murnau version and loved it.
